While doing science and health projects, students are required to do a summative assessment to demonstrate their new knowledge. Many of these projects are done on the computer, and need to be printed. Most of my students are from low income families. They do not have access to printers, other than the black and white printer at school. As there isn’t a printer in the classroom, the projects must be sent to another room and can not be printed until the teacher has a preparation period. Sometimes, that isn’t until the next day. Adding a printer to the classroom would allow students to see their work quickly, without delay. It would be wonderful if they were able to print in color and show all the creativity that they put into their projects. Please help give my students the opportunity to do something most of us consider to be trivial- print in color.
