My students are extraordinary.
They come from neighborhoods all over Boston, their backgrounds are truly diverse -- 34% are Hispanic, 30% are African American, 20% are Asian American, and 12% are White -- they speak languages ranging from Spanish to Mandarin to Arabic to Cape Verdean and Haitian Creole.
And they bring all of these varied experiences and perspectives into the classroom each day, so that we are a community that learns with and from each other.
