At a kindergarten level most of the teaching experiences can't be the traditional way of sit and take. The need of play doh, addition games, stems activities to activate learning its crutial. We have in our classroom rotations where students have the opportunity to practice the taught material. For example, word work stations we will use the letter stamps/ink to play with words in a fun way.
Also in math they will have the opportunity to compose/decompose numbers with a fun twist of the monkey balance. These skills were not completely mastered last year so I do see the urgency of having activities where kids feel comfortable playing with numbers while putting these skills into practice.
We also have lessons where play doh is needed to make shapes, counting activities and free play. Stems games will be use to help them grow during free play, invent not vent as they share with classmates and learn how to socialize in class.
Our students may be in a little disadvantage but we try every year to level the plain field and we can't do it alone. We strive to help the Whole Individual and having fun in learning is a must. It will lower the filters of shyness allowing us to get to the most pure open version of our students. Getting these innovative games/items, will definitley help in that process.
Thank You!!
