Students will use these books to help build the fundamental reading skills that we will be practicing and learning over the course of the year. These books are a source outside of their textbook to help make standards more relatable than just reading in a textbook. Also, it allows students to grow a love of reading and enjoy different genres that they may have never been introduced to. Students learn from both text readings and outside sources. Reading books support their reading and their language skills which many of my students need with having English as a second language.
