The last couple of years have been a wild adventure for the world as we have been learning how to live through the pandemic. Our kids are not strangers to anxiety and frustration as their world has been interrupted by a virus.
Yet, our kids are strong and resilient with a great desire to lead.
I am looking forward to being able to provide my students with many opportunities to develop their math skills, emotional coping strategies, and communication skills.
Items such as the Qball+ Throwable Microphone will increase engagement in class as well as allow every voice to be heard. Manipulatives such as the Algebra Tiles, number lines, play money, and other math games will be used to anchor critical math concepts. I want to help my students say goodbye to their fear of math and hello to confident math minds! These materials are known to support deep understanding of algebraic concepts that students need to be successful in every day life.
Last, but not least, I am ordering supplies such as chair kick bands, MagnaTiles, and sensory foam to support the sensory and emotional needs of my students. Our school has implemented a few minutes each day of stress free time with sensory bins. It's amazing to see what 5-10 minutes with some playdough or Legos can do for these kids. It's been a great way to help the students learn healthy coping skills, communicate with their peers, and have a moment to just be creative without being graded. I am excited to be able to provide a few more options for the students to express their creativity and release their stress during this time. Thank you for your help in providing these supplies for our future leaders!
