The classroom furniture, work organizers, and the whiteboards are gifts that will make a difference in the classroom. My students often require scaffolding when understanding and practicing concepts in math and ELA. The inviting flexible seating will foster interest and focus during small group, 1:1, or independent work. Both the work organizers and whiteboards are supplemental tools. These learning tools will definitely be utilized daily in reading (ELA) and math classes as well as in the Learning Support classroom. The whiteboards will be used to assist with spelling, dictating thoughts and ideas. The whiteboards will help with problem solving and class room participation. The work organizers provide access to materials while learning and practicing skills. Overall, the work organizers will improve executive functioning skills when moving in different spaces within the inclusive class setting and/or the resource room. They will increase time on task and keep students focused on learning. Ultimately, these learning tools and furniture will have a positive impact on students self-efficacy. The hope and goal is to encourage and improve confidence, effort, and development.
