With technology occupying so much time in young people's lives, they are lacking connecting properly with one another. We feel like kids don't communicate well with one another. They need direct instruction to support their social emotional development.
Our school district is making a big push to encourage empathy in all students. I would like to share materials that our teachers can use to create great lessons that will support our goals. Our school has 6th, 7th and 8th grades. We have 7 teachers per grade level teaching lessons on empathy everyday. By purchasing two sets of each book. Each teacher in the grade level can work on lessons within a particular book. They can then trade at the quarter and have some fresh ideas.
With a little guidance, through resources, we can be great!
