Students will be able to create small hydroponic gardens and compare them to traditional means of plant growth using soil. Each group will be able to establish their own experimental design and compare with each other to deepen the inquiry.
This unit will be a part of my larger project of establishing and maintaining our school’s community garden. Students will grow plants from seed and plant them in our gardens for school and community use. This will be the second year of our garden and if we receive these supplies it will help us to expand on what we can do and even provide to the students and larger community hopefully providing healthy local foods.
