This will be my 15th year of teaching and I want to give my kiddos a warm, cozy spot to gather and share their learning journey! By helping me provide my kindergarteners with a new carpet you are giving me a chance to open up many opportunities for them. My students gather on the carpet each day for so many activities... to share their feelings, read-aloud with a partner, create math problems using real-life objects, act out stories, and so much more!
Creating opportunities for movement is key to keeping kindergarten students engaged in learning! This new carpet will allow them a place to take brain breaks, explore in play-based learning, and gather with peers to work. My students spend a good portion of the day sharing their work with each other, discussing ideas, and working together to solve problems. Having a comfortable space to gather allows students to focus on what they are learning and what they can teach others!
I am so excited to begin another school year and I hope to bring my new munchkins into an environment that is welcoming, friendly, and engaging!
