These picture books are a great addition to our 5th grade classroom. All of my students still enjoy these amazing books. These books are the perfect way for students to learn a new reading strategy and to practice analyzing text, as a whole class. Instead of only enjoying the books, now we are able to analyze these books more closely.
Students will be able to see these books both through a readers lens and a writers lens. They will use these picture books to become more concrete in a variety of reading skills, before trying the skill in their own independent book. Students will be able to analyze writers craft and think about how to add different skills into their writings.
