Many of my students have spatial awareness issues and need (and prefer) a dedicated space to call their own. This rug will be used to encourage collaborative musical performance (performing "in a round") and be used for lesson activities that allow each student to have ownership of "their space". This will improve focus, behavior, and communication between students in a structured and colorful space. This rug will also offer an additional flexible seating choice for students to work alone, with a partner, and in small groups, and will eliminate time it usually takes to unstack and stack classroom chairs during transitions.
