We have recently installed a hive of honey bees at our school. This will be our first year of offering our students an opportunity to join our Bee-Amazing Bee Club. Our student led club will be open to students from preschool to fifth grade.
Students will learn about and explore the importance of honey bees to our environment. Students will examine the connection between pollinators and food production. They will engage in student directed activities that will build their understanding of bee colonies, life cycles and bee temperament.
With our project, we hope to help foster a change in beliefs about the temperament of honey bees and the stereotypical fear associated with them.
