Chess is a detailed game of strategy. Students will develop social and analytical skills while engaging in a friendly competition with their classmates who may come from a different background. Attendees to Chess Club are instructed to focus solely on chess and are not allowed to play any other games. Students without an opponent are encouraged to observe the games of other students so they can learn additional strategies for success in the game. Chess Club meets after school twice a month, and has attracted a significant and enthusiastic response from quite a few of our school's students. This will be my fourth year of hosting Chess Club at my school.
