Ceramics is a huge part of my students curriculum. We unfortunately don’t have any pottery wheels. With these wheel my students can learn the proper way to throw a wide range of ceramics dishes. Art 1 students begin with throwing beginner bowls and mugs. Advanced students can throw anything from vases to abstract structures. It is the gateway to 3D sculpting. In an ideal situation, everyone student would have a chance to throw on the wheel as I demonstrate. There are so many different lessons to apply to throwing pottery and you can only enhance the skill by practicing it! This is something students can carry on with them through their collegiate art programs and even adult life.
