The goal of my program is to allow students to be bi-literate and bilingual in both Spanish and English. To be successful in this, we must be able to provide students with grade appropriate materials in both languages.
Now, more than ever, there is a need to present students with an authentic and relevant educational experience. Providing students with texts written in Spanish, they will maintain their academic achievement, loosing very minimal ground while transitioning to a program that is predominantly taught in another language. These books will be housed within the classroom and will serve as building blocks within the bi-literate Language Arts program we are piloting this year.
About my class
