As technological advancements have changed the current landscape of the classroom, it is more important than ever to provide students with opportunities to engage with that technology to enhance learning. My students have access to devices to use online programs, such as Lexia. However, it becomes difficult to use such programs in the classroom without access to headphones.
Students need individual headphones to be able to focus their attention on improving their skills through online programs. I have seen great progress made and holes in learning filled through the Lexia program. I'm sure that progress would be even greater if we could minimize distractions by allowing each student to have their own headphones.
