My students will benefit from increased interaction with our classroom pet tortoises. They enjoy feeding them and bathing them, but these supplies will allow the students to get the tortoises outdoors and interact with them to a greater degree. Many of the students are calmed and soothed by interaction with the tortoises. They are very gentle and the students love interacting and caring for them.
The flexible seating will provide another way to help my students stay focused during instruction. I have some stools that I purchased from IKEA, but they are falling apart because the students lean on them. This will allow them to lean without danger of them breaking. I purchsed exercize bands for desks to allow students to put their feet on, but they come off the desks and rip easily. These bands would allow students the stimulation and opportunity for movement that many of them need.
