My students need these books to read during book club. The books will be used in an effort to build the students personal book shelves. My students are all voluntary readers who have expressed an interest in sharing their love of books with others. This book club is one of the largest school-wide literacy opportunities. It engages students from ninth to twelfth grade. Club members are students who become book influencers within our school. After a book talk on the state's Teen Book Award nominees our members voted on the books that they wanted to read this semester. The book club will participate in two meetings a month to discuss books being read, to plan book activities and to support literacy awareness in our school.
