Over the last couple of years I have created a flexible seating classroom that is welcoming for every child that walks through the door. It a place that is comfortable where every student can find a place where they can learn their best. Students love the exercise balls and other seating options that have been provided. Last year many of my balls were lost to holes after being used for several years.
My classroom again this year will be filled with amazing diversity. I want our room to feel like home, a place where everyone belongs. Along with the flexible seating, I want to ensure that my students feel like they have materials to represent who they are. I love providing opportunities for student to show who they are through art. Having the correct materials that give all students that option are necessary.
In my busy classroom, many need a quieter place to work, or a snack to fill their belly. The items on my list will help me to continue creating a room where students needs are being met so that they feel welcome and safe to be the best versions of themselves.
