My students came to me last year with excitement over the fact they were finally going to learn how to read and write in cursive, however, I had trouble giving them the proper practice materials. Our school is very limited on the amount of copies I am allowed to print. Yes, I would and did get out notebook paper. I modeled for them how to move the pencil but I really want(ed) a better way for them to practice. I also found they wanted to practice on their own in between classwork or during their station time.
These handwriting practice books would be perfect for my upcoming students.
They will offer some independence for my students to practice when they have extra class time. They also will help assist me when demonstrating exactly how to move the pencil. I do not want to let another school year go by without the proper materials. I feel like writing in cursive is a skill that is going extinct. I want my students to successfully leave me this coming school year with the ability to read and write in cursive.
