The materials and supplies, that I am requesting for my students, will allow them to have access to experiences you can't get by just using pencil and paper. They will be able to engage in a variety of hands-on activities throughout the day while building their language skills in Haitian and English.
We need your help to make this a reality for them! The mini projector will serve as a window to explore through video the places and things such as animals and nature. All learners at this age need to make things tangible, so the dramatic play tools will give them a visual and concrete representation of what we are learning. They will be free to use their imagination and create their own oral stories with these materials. Socio-emotional learning is very important to me, so I decided to include the use of multicultural songs to help my students learn about empathy and respect. As language learners, students will use the speaker and microphone system to explore vocabulary while having fun.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful ways.
By implementing expeditionary learning in my classroom complemented by the used of diverse and rich literature, my students will be ready to achieve all their goals and fill the gap this population of students is trying to decrease. Thanks!
