Currently, there is no DVD player in my classroom. However, our music curriculum has numerous DVD's that are interactive. The external CD/DVD player will allow me to engage my students in these interactive lessons. The picture books in this project feature characters with whom my students can identify. I will be using these to supplement lessons featuring music from around the world and when I discuss the contributions of musicians from a variety of cultures. This project would help me create a more equitable classroom. As the new music teacher at Bryant, my goal is for the music room to be an amazing place where students feel valued and comfortable.
