Students learn better when they have a chance to work together. Traditional desks in rows isolate students from each other. Flexible seating allows students to easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class. Many flexible seating options help stimulate students' sense of touch. This is perfect for my shy bilingual students! It will give them the opportunity to interact with each other and take them out of their comfort zone. I want to help and encourage them to talk amongst each other and really promote communication and class discussions. My second graders will be engaged and excited to learn!
