My students are highly motivated, and extremely hard-working individuals thanks to sensory breaks. My students are able to stay focused and complete tasks after they receive sensory input. There are a few changes occurring this school year and I feel some students transitioning into my classroom are going to need more input than I have to offer.
Sensory breaks are rewarding because students are still learning as their brain's rest and reset between tasks. During sensory breaks my students will learn vital life skills , and continue to develop their gross and fine motor skills.
The swing, trampoline, and balance ball will be a great addition to the room to help calm my students if they become frustrated throughout the day. My students will learn how to express themselves through the "My feelings journal". The foam sensory paint, and gel- bead sensory shapes will help my students emphasize their fine motor skills.
