New books will benefit my students in a variety of ways! Research shows that reading aloud to children develops not only listening and language skills, but promotes development in all other subject areas as well.
Through these books, my special education preschool students will develop skills for kindergarten with their peers. These specific titles are colorful, developmentally appropriate, and inspire imagination. They will be used for math, social-emotional, behavior, writing, and seasonal lesson plans.
For example, using the story "Dog's Colorful Day", I can target counting, identifying colors, language and early literacy skills, attending and participating during a lesson, basic classroom behavior skills, etc.
