I teach Early Childhood Intervention Special Education. My students come from a diverse backgrounds. In my teaching I am always looking for learning opportunities through play. As Mr. Rogers once said "play is really the work of childhood". I currently teach two preschool sessions a day and work with students who have varying disabilities including behavior, language, cognitive, self help, and mobility delays. These students would benefit from an array of diversity toys to use in play based learning.
In an effort to promote inclusion and antiracism in my classroom I would like to provide more toys, visuals, and manipulatives that reflect and look like all of the students in my classroom. These toys will provide tangible opportunities to see themselves in pretend play as well as differences seen in our community and how we can all work together. Please take a moment to donate to my project!
