5th grade marks a time in a child's life where they are starting to figure out who they are and how they fit in socially with the world around them. Learning through the immersion of literature is another way to provide students with an opportunity to experience challenges that others have lived through.
Through "Wonder" my students can gain a new perspective, and a better understanding of how to overcome their own challenges while learning important life lessons along the journey. With 30 copies of this book, my students will be transported into the life of Auggie Pullman, and other 5th grade students as they experience the central themes of coming to age, differences in appearance, friendships, courage, and acts of kindness.
