My passion project as a kindergarten teacher…to take my curious learners on an alphabetical tour of the National Park System as we learn our letters and sounds! From the Gateway Arch to Zion, these kindergartners will be distance learning with Devils Tower, The Grand Canyon, Zion and Presidents Park along with taking virtual field trips within our technology lab. We are creating our own passport binders within the classroom and “get stamped” as we travel from week to week! And most importantly, We are reading the most beautiful picture books relating to the National Park System and applying our new knowledge of the beauty in America to our journal entries and family conversations at home.
We dream of becoming Junior Rangers at a National Park. That dream includes the opportunity to experience what it feels like to explore around the Gateway Arch, enjoy a picnic lunch within a National Park, explore the museum, and head to the top of the Arch and back down again on the tram! This will be an 8 hour round trip for our kindergarten family and we couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to realize our dream as we make life long memories! Each kiddo will take a loved one with them and we will be inviting our neighboring classroom of kindergartners as well!! We can’t wait to share the excitement of exploring, learning about, protecting and preserving our beautiful Park system with our loved ones and friends. Thank you for your dedication in supporting our National Park dream.
