I would like to use mentor texts as a way to drive instruction in my classroom. I believe that reading is essential to being a good writer and reader. I want my students to love reading and become exposed to different types of writing, opinions, and views. I have selected some amazing books by authors from all walks of life. I want my students to be able to see themselves in the books we read in class. I hope one day they will look back on one of these books and remember the difference it made in their lives.

About my class
