These materials will allow the children to do weekly monitoring of the existing aquaponics systems on campus. This will ensure we have healthy plants and healthy fish. The data will be used in our math Statistics Unit at the end of the year.
The data collected will be meaningful to the students in science and when we engage in our math statistics lessons. Students will be in teams of three or four as they administer weekly tests to the water of our aquaponics systems. The data will be collected and put into spreadsheets created by the students on the school server. Data will be available for future classes to see and help recognize long-term trends in pH, related to what was growing, time of year, and other conditions.
