In order to help my students find those very special books that will light their fire for reading, I need help with displaying the many, many books that I have bought over the last couple of years. When the students are able to see the covers of the books... When they can go to a particular display and find the type of book they are looking for... When it is easy to find the book that someone else told them about... that is when the reluctant readers will start to READ.
Like the student who wanted to read another graphic novel like the one he just finished - and was so proud that he had read the whole book! And the student who wanted the book he was reading for AP English to read in SPANISH in my class - by an author from his family's country of origin! And the student who asked for another book from "that series"...
