For my project, I would like to bring Storyworks Magazine, published by Scholastic, into my classsroom. Storyworks Magazine contains high interest articles and short stories that my former students looked forward to reading and discussing every time a new issue arrived. The nonfiction content by Lauren Tarshis, author of one of our favorite series, "I Survived...", really inspired my former students to read and write more informational texts. This year, I would love to use the magazines in small groups and partnerships to increase discourse, engagement, and excitement about reading. I know my students would love to receive this wonderful magazine in the mail at school! Thank you for helping to bring this amazing resource into our classroom!
