I plan to connect the iPad to the Apple TV in order to have the freedom to walk away from my document camera and to my students.
My students typically have an emotional disturbance, which causes their emotions to be inappropriate for the situation. This means they may feel more comfortable working at a place other than their desk. Their behaviors have often impeded on their learning, as well, therefore they may struggle academically. Bringing an iPad into the environment will make it possible to get out of the paper and pencil routine and begin using apps, such as Explain Everything or Skitch. I can use apps like Scanner Pro to take a picture of the assignment and project it onto the screen (saving paper!), or Nearpod which would allow me to project an interactive and engaging educational slideshow for the students to participate in.
Using these things will allow me to meet my students where they are, physically and emotionally, and get them where they need to be.
