I wanted to create a way for all our students in the play yard, (special and general education) to CONNECT through play and organized sports. Having a common interest, such as soccer, baseball, basketball, football and dodge ball has proven to create and strengthen friendships from across cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. Our kids need this and all our students will benefit by participating in sports by learning how to win/lose, follow rules, work as a team, as well as learn recreational skills that will carry over to adulthood, improving their quality of life. This project is something that will benefit so many children who pass through our program.
