Over 450 students in my school will enjoy watching the live morning television show created by students with the help of an iPad! The show helps build our school community by sharing our school news, including special student projects and achievements. The iPad will be used to film and edit videos to share on the morning show, allow classrooms to be live on the morning show from a remote location, and give student the means and autonomy to film and take pictures of projects, events, and other parts of their lives at school that they find meaningful and inspiring.
Your donations to this project will give students the chance to use their unique skills and interests and work with others to create a community-building, schoolwide show.
Students will get to experience, first-hand, the importance of math, reading, writing, speaking, listening, and mindfulness by writing scripts, serving as anchors for the show, caring for fragile equipment, and managing time by maintaining segment lengths and sticking to deadlines. In addition, my students will undoubtedly come across the authentic, very probable obstacles that one faces whenever working with technology—a perfect opportunity to work on troubleshooting skills!
