Each year students in 5th grade create a biography project. Giving students ample choices in who they want to learn about, will allow them to be engaged in the process of learning. Through biographies, we can discuss how people in various decades and centuries have contributed to the world as we know it now. In return, students can begin to think about how they want to impact the world and relate to people in history with the same mindset. The mindset of growth, change, perseverance, and problem-solving will be tools my students need to continue their path as life long learners.
