With our new common core curriculum, teachers are working hard to meet the standards with very little materials. I am hoping that with the requested materials, it might be a little easier to help students increase and meet the new rigor found in the Common Core. I teach in a rural school with 78% free reduced lunch. Many of our students are struggling readers, which affects all other subject areas. It is a constant struggle to help our students improve their skills. Many students have difficult home lives with working parents, who can't support their education as they would like. We try to make up for that in our school and in my classroom.
