The microscopes in my classroom are straight out of a 1970s classroom. For a classroom of 15 students, I have two working microscopes with very poor lenses. I'd love for my students to be able to look at slides and lab specimens with the same excitement I experienced in college when I chose to be a scientist.
These microscopes will be used to inspire high school Biology students to pursue a career as a scientist. Often my students don't have the experience of using real equipment and doing real research. By bringing this experience into the classroom I hope to share my love of science with my student in a way that it can be a part of their future.
