A big part of being an effective student is organization. My goal is to instill the love for learning and being organized from an early age. Teaching my students how to keep their materials in the right space will maximize their learning time in the classroom. Due to a lack of storage in our classroom, my students only have hooks for their backpacks. This makes them lose instruction time because they have to walk to the other side of the classroom for their materials versus having them at hand behind their chairs.
With this chair storage pocket, my students will be able to keep their materials nearby and stay engaged throughout the day.
They will also have the chance to become autonomous at an early age which will teach to be responsible for their materials and their area. I hope to shape them into independent young boys and girls so that they are more than ready for kinder and they leave my classroom loving school.
