Students with special needs in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade have an opportunity to improve their reading skills using the Read 180 program. These headsets allow the students to access the program and get excited about their reading growth. They don't just listen to the information, they use the microphone to read letters, words, and passages to build fluency. I have seen how well this program works! I have had students in the 6th grade test in as a beginning reader and get excited when they see their growth. It really is a wonderful feeling for them. I watch their confidence soar! They are so ashamed sometimes, of all the things they cannot do and I will do all that I can to help them to become more proud of the things they CAN do!
