"We’re all born with a curiosity about the world around us that makes us natural scientists."-Elizabeth Keller
Teaching elementary students is a job that requires hands-on learning.
Studies have shown that students tend to retain information when they are physically involved in the learning process because just reading books can be boring and students lose interest quickly.
I would like to transform my transitional kindergartners into little scientist when they enter my class. In order to do this, I am requesting a class set of scientist lab coats. I would like my students to wear lab coats so when we are learning about science in our project-based classroom.
As a scientist, my students will learn how to observe, record and analyze different things. They will go exploring our school's playground, life cycles of insects, environments, and their habitats. My main goal is for my students to discover what different scientists do such as botanist, hydrologist, meteorologist, zoologist and etc do. Most importantly, to allow my students to continue their love for being curious about the world.
Please help enrich our science curriculum through a project-based learning environment with a class set of scientist lab coats. I can guarantee my students will be excited to learn about science and maybe some of them might want to become a future scientist one day!
