Teaching elementary students is probably one of the most challenging but yet most rewarding tasks there is. These kids are just starting to figure out who they are and what they want to be in life. The habits they form when they are this age follow them throughout their lives.
When thinking of what is special about my students, I think of the word "potential". My students face adversity daily. They come from a low socioeconomic area and most are second language learners. Almost every child in our school is faced with education and language gaps. Despite the obstacles they face, their spirit and drive to learn is inspiring. All the students in my class have a severe learning disorder.
The task to unlock these amazing student's potential is daunting but worth the effort. They just need people to believe in them like every staff member at our school does. "When you catch a glimpse of your potential, that's when passion is born," said Zig Ziglar. We only need to show them their potential and we will set ablaze the fire in all of their hearts.
Each student in my class will be greatly benefitted by the tablets. With the tablets each students will be able to get onto a program that is made specially for their educational levels and goals. Along with the program, students will be able to do more research projects and do class group studies.
