Currently I am teaching Critical Thinking classes with an emphasis on research, however we do not have access to technology. With the addition of 5 devices we can create a station for students to access when needed. Broward County Public Schools, as well as most school districts, are moving to digital textbooks and resources; however, a pocket of students have been forgotten, those who do not have access to the internet or technology when they are not at school.
Working in a Title 1 school (at least 97% of our students receive free and reduced lunch, highest in Broward County, FL) a lot of our students do not have access to technology at home. These tablets will provide them with the opportunity to complete homework, projects, and other class assignments; as well as allow them to access the abundance of digital resources available on the web.
This technology will help prepare the next generation to become problem solvers and contribute to society with a positive impact in their families and communities.
