In class every few weeks a selection of fives sets of books will be placed around tables. Students will be able to flip through the books and decide which book club they would like to join. Once book club groups are selected each group of five students will read their selected book. They will meet weekly with the teacher to discuss what they have been reading, how they feel about the book, point out various literary techniques, and discuss authors purpose and craft. This will give the students a chance to grow and collaborate as authentic readers. It will help students have more of a choice of what they read as well.
