Adding to a new classroom library will increase interest and desire towards reading. My classroom library is a place that my students seek for the joy of reading, whether a teacher read aloud, a book their friend recommended, the new book that caught their eye, or their favorite book they read over and over again. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind, knowing that these books will further their imaginations, and feed their ever growing minds with the development they need.
All of these books will be used for a variety of independent reading activities in which the students pick and use the book(s) of their choice. The number one way to increase reading ability, interest, and desire is to give students a plethora of reading options. My students already have shown an amazing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences and development of becoming lifelong readers!
