Make a donation Mr. Jeanetti can use on his next classroom project.
My students come to class every day with challenges that kids should not face. Yet they come in every day, ready to learn and ready to make a difference in this world. Many of the challenges they face create gaps in their education when content is missed. My students have fallen behind, not from their choices, but from the world they live in.
These donations will give me the opportunity to bring our world at school to them anywhere they need, any time they need. This equipment will be used to record my social studies classes in school, as well as record short reviews and upload them to YouTube. I can also create and record podcasts for reviews that they can listen to on their phones. I also teach an enrichment class and I can use this equipment to enrich projects and teach students video editing and podcasting. I want to better reach students by taping into the tech-world that they already live in everyday.
I would love to give my students the opportunity to learn at their pace and have the ability to review things they may have missed in class. I have many students that miss school quite often for reasons beyond their control. Also, many students read significantly below grade-level. It's nearly impossible for them to process the whole lesson in one class, but with this technology they could re-watch the lesson, or listen to the podcast review, as often as needed from home.
While there are many things my students cannot control, technology can afford them the ability to take ownership of their education.
