When I became as physical educator 19 years ago, I recognized and accepted the valuable role I have in the life of the students I am fortunate to teach. Realizing that the learning needs of my students are ever changing; I am committed to growing professionally by staying current with the best learning practices.
One goal of my district's Health and PE department is to positively develop physically literate and active students. Furthermore, at my school we are navigating the path to assist students in becoming future leaders via our Leader in Me curriculum. Being able to meet my school, district, and state teaching objectives while ensuring my students receive quality PE lessons is why I want to learn from some of my state's best physical educators and specialists.
During the convention, I will have the opportunity to learn from nationally recognized PE teachers about how their teaching practices, procedures, and methods develop 21st century inclusive PE classrooms. My students will directly benefit from this learning experience because I will learn how to and integrate technology, literacy, and math in my PE classroom while still providing physically active lessons.
