Nearpod is an online platform that allows students to interact in activities throughout a lesson. Teachers can incorporate activities such as surveys, student drawings, virtual field trips, and more into their lessons to shift educational experiences towards increase student engagement and participation. While a classroom must balance the use of technology-based and face-to-face communication, having the opportunity to respond to questions and learning checks from behind a computer screen is what many students need in order to be heard.
Using exciting exploration opportunities, effective methods of communication, and immediate feedback, students have the ability to respond and interact with a lesson through differentiated modalities, increasing participation, learning, and self-confidence. Nearpod gives students the tools needed to learn and communicate their understanding to their teacher and anonymously to their peers while allowing them to gain real-world experience using technology in a professional way in an educational setting.
