All of my students have a communication disorder ranging in severity. Many are nonverbal or have very limited verbal communication. These students would benefit from the use of alternative and augmentative communication methods, which would be possible with the use of various applications on an iPad. Additionally, verbal students would benefit from various speech and language-based applications during therapy sessions, such as Little Bee Speech for improving articulation skills and My PlayHome for expanding receptive and expressive language skills.
The funding of this project would truly provide a voice for my students with limited communication skills and would help enhance the communication skills of my other students with a less severe communication disorder.
