I am a speech language pathologist for the RISE program. My 1st-8th grade students, with a wide range of communication and language abilities, are learning via hybrid teaching. Some of my students come to school and some of my students stay home. Since we have started remote teaching, I have purchased and made majority of my adapted materials from Teachers Pay Teachers and the visual supports for language and communication, as well as the supplies to create the materials, so that my students can participate in their virtual speech therapy sessions. Many of my students are working on categorizing and describing to increase their vocabulary and expressive language. My in person middle school students love playing modified (social distanced) games and I would love to incorporate concepts related to their goals in the games we play. In my 10 years as an SLP, this is the first time I’ve ever had an opportunity to purchase quality teaching tools, adapted materials, and sensory supports to use with my students. I kept the individual needs of each of my students in mind when creating this project. If it is funded, each of my students will benefit from your generous donation. Thank you!
